The Debut Comes to Sacramento

Eighteen years ago I watched The Debut with much excitement. I wasn't disappointed; in fact, I was so impressed and moved that I purchased the DVD for repeated viewings. 

The film was a first for me to see an all Filipino-American cast depicting endearing--yes, sometimes challenging--family dynamics and our struggles with community, identify and just plain fitting in.
